Furness Pride 2023

We packed so much into one day for Furness Pride 23 which took place on May 13th in Barrow town centre, from the parade, stage performances, information stalls, public services, workshops and art exhibitions, a great day was had by all. We have so many people to thank, you are all amazing and help to make LGBTQ+ people feel included in our community.

furness pride 2023

In 2019 Young people from our LGBTQ+ youth group visited Liverpool Pride and had a great time watching the Parade and acts all in the name of inclusion. When they returned they asked why Furness didn't have a similar event so Furness Pride was developed. In 2020 and 2021 our events had to be virtual due to Covid however 2022 will be a family friendly event in Barrow town centre on May 14th 12-6. We will have various acts, educational workshops, performances and a mini pride to enable people from the LGBTQ+ community and allies to celebrate inclusivity. A huge thank you to the PRIDE steering group and the many organisations and individuals for helping us to make this happen.

FURNESS PRIDE

What a fantastic day we had at our first  face to face FURNESS PRIDE. Their were so many highlights throughout the day and we thank each and every person involved in making the day such a high success. Over 4500 people attended the day which was filled with positivity and joy.

A big thank you also to our venues, The FORUM, The Holiday Inn Express and the ODD FROG who hosted our PRIDE after party. And to the local businesses and stallholders of Barrow Market for supporting the parade.
